Two Painted Lady butterflies landing on Pearly Everlasting plants along Islais Creek in Glen Canyon Park on Wednesday, August 18th.
The butterflies, V. annabella, have a wide range. They’re also sometimes called West Coast Ladies. These two decided to make acquaintanceship with plants cared for by Friends of Glen Canyon Park.
Anyone interested in joining weekly work parties that reintroduce California native plants to the canyon and ensure trees such as willows are pruned can contact Richard Craib richcraib@gmail.com.
