Diamond Heights Health and Safety Fair, Saturday, Sept. 13, 10:00 to 2:00 pm,
SF Police Academy, 350 Amber Drive
The Diamond Heights community is providing its 4th Health and Safety Fair. The Fair is free and open to the public.
The Fair will offer live music by the Babar Jug Band from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon and Pat Wilder’s Band, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm. There will be lots of free prize drawings for $50 gift certificates for All Seasons Restaurant and for Red Cross Disaster Kits. Free coloring books and other handouts will be available. Children’s activities will include Bouncy Houses, face painting and safety workshops with parents. Food will be available for purchase from the Euro Bistro Food Truck as well as free snacks, popcorn and beverages. The CHP will conduct child car seat safety checks. Agency booths and health screenings will provide free health and safety information for people of all ages.
To date, agencies that will participate include: SF Police Academy (SFPD Talking Police Car, Dog Unit and horses from the Mounted Police), SF A.L.E.R.T., SF Fire Department Station 26 Fire Engine, Diamond Heights Blvd. Median Project, Golden Gate Urgent Care, James Studio Art Sales, Kidpower, Meals on Wheels, Noe Valley Nursery School, Onlok Day Services/30th Street Senior Center, Osher Life Long Learning Institute, Resilient Diamond Heights, SAFE, SF Cares (free vision screening and eye glasses for those eligible) SFNERT, St. Aidan’s Church, SFPUC, SF Suicide Prevention, SF Village and Tree Frog Trek. Various other disaster preparedness and social services agencies have been invited.
Community sponsors include the San Francisco Police Academy, Diamond Heights Shopping Center, Diamond Heights Community Association, Resilient Diamond Heights and St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church.
