On Friday, February 14 at 5:18pm AlertSF blasted out the warning, “Avoid the area of San Jose Avenue/Rousseau St. due to Police Activity. Emergency crews are on scene.”
According to an eyewitness, police were waiting in the northbound side, somewhere just north of the underpass. The witness drove past them (going north) and noticed they had their lights on when he passed them. He figured they were waiting for the suspect.
Next thing the witness knew, the suspect vehicle was coming up fast, clipping his car before hitting other cars and crashing into the barrier. Another vehicle spun “in the air,” he said. Then there was a Ford SUV that ended up on the barrier next to the bike lane.

Officers retrieved at least two if not more large handguns from the back of the suspect vehicle.
Official details are not yet available but the incident was resolved at 6:20pm.
