Since last year, the Fix-It Team, initiated by Mayor Lee, has been busy in Glen Park, beautifying neglected open spaces. With the help of neighborhood volunteers and seven city agencies, the team has worked on clearing the Greenway and, more recently, made a big effort to clear trash and vegetation from the pathway along Arlington Street and San Jose Avenue.
On Tuesday, Mayor Breed signaled her commitment to carry on this important work by allocating an additional $750,000 to continue the work of this great program. She made the announcement at City Hall, with many Fix-It community leaders attending. Our fabulous point person, Sandra Zuniga, invited a number of people from Glen Park to join in the occasion.
Zuniga sent a shout out to all the city agencies who are partnering in the work: 311, Economic and Workforce Development, Public Works, Public Health, Department of Homelessness, Recreation and Parks, Public Utilities, SFMTA and the San Francisco Police Department.
Zuniga sent along this press release, which gives details of how the funding will be spent.
