Himalayan blackberry uprooted from a slope west of Islais Creek. If left to their own devices, the invasive tendrils would strangle native California wildflowers such as Crimson Columbine, now in its early stages of growth, not yet ready to flower into its richness. Sylvia Hochede, a Friends of Glen Park Canyon Park volunteer, wrestled with the non-native blackberry through most of Wednesday morning.
