Le P’tit Laurent, the popular bistro at the intersection of Chenery and Diamond streets, has been sold to an as-yet unnamed buyer who plans to keep it open as a French restaurant, with the same kitchen team.
Laurent Legendre, the owner who started the restaurant in 2007, said the new owners didn’t want their identity known yet, but that they have “some” other restaurants in San Francisco. A sign in the window says an application for a transfer of the alcohol license was filed by Jweiny LLC on Oct. 15.
The sale includes the restaurant business and the real estate, including both the corner building and the one next door housing Higher Grounds coffee house, which Legendre said would remain open.
The changeover will probably happen by early December, he said, and sometime after the details are completed, Legendre plans to join his wife and sons, who moved back to France in August. Before he goes, he promised, Legendre will host a farewell party for all his Glen Park fans.
