The Glen Park News has been publishing in various forms since 1977. It’s now a quarterly newspaper, and has been delivered to your door in Glen Park until last year when the pandemic made it go online temporarily. Read our current and past newspapers on the Glen Park Association website here: https://www.glenparkassociation.org/glen-park-news/
Historic issues are also available on our website: https://archive.org/details/glenparkpapers?&sort=date
We also have a blog on our website, www.glenparkassociation.org, where we publish breaking news, announcements of important meetings and other features.
But we need some new writers and editors. There’s news, in-depth stories and investigations to be written but not enough people to do it.
We don’t pay (unless you want to help us expand our advertising base, in which case we’ve got another job for you) but you’d be making a difference.
Here’s what we posted just last week:
On Thursday, a news-you-can-use article about what’s proposed for Twin Peaks https://www.glenparkassociation.org/twin-peaks-for-all-proposal-and-public-meeting/
On Wednesday news that the Richland bridge is closing https://www.glenparkassociation.org/richland-bridge-to-close/
On Friday we had a story up about a tree in flames along the San Jose cut https://www.glenparkassociation.org/fire-along-san-jose-avenue/
On Saturday, a lovely remembrance of Gum Tree Girl Zoanne Nordstrom https://www.glenparkassociation.org/zoanne-touched-many-lives-in-many-different-ways/
All that’s required is a strong interest in hyper-local news about our neighborhood and a willingness to do reporting. Experience is lovely but we can also edit. If you’re interested in getting involved, please contact us at editor@glenparkassociation.org
