Hello Friend and Supporter of the Glen Park Greenway,
Please join us on Thursday August 5 at 11 a.m. as we celebrate the completion of the Greenway Trail Improvement Project, a milestone of progress in the Greenway project. We’ll meet on the Greenway near the intersection of Brompton Avenue and Bosworth Street. I hope that you’ll be able to come and spend about half an hour with other supporters of the Greenway including Supervisor Rafael Mandelman, Carla Short, Superintendent of the Bureau of Urban Forestry at SFPW, and Drew Becher, CEO of the San Francisco Parks Alliance.
The improved trail stretches from Brompton Avenue to Lippard, continues along the block from Lippard to Chilton Avenue and extends for about 100’ beyond Chilton. It’s good to see this phase of the Greenway project completed. I’m very grateful to all of those directly involved in it — the volunteers (especially our project managers Dan Wright and Adam King), our landscape architect Sarka Volejnikova of BASE, and our construction contractor Cazadoro Construction. Most importantly, great thanks are due to the major funders of the project: the Community Challenge Grant Program and Supervisor Mandelman who obtained add-back funding for the Greenway.
I hope that you’ll be able to join the celebration on August 5th and I look forward to seeing you there.
