Forwarded from Nicholas Dewar, project manager for the Glen Park Greenway:
Hello Friends and Supporters of the Glen Park Greenway
We will have a work party on Saturday November 10. I hope that you will be able to join us once again.
The trees and shrubs that many of you helped plant during the last 12 months are (mostly) doing really well. An energetic team of volunteer waterers is keeping them watered and we’ve been diligently weeding them all year. Now it’s time for another of our great work parties. Here’s the plan:
Saturday November 10
Time: 9:00am- 12:00pm
Place: meet at the end of the Chilton Avenue cul-de-sac beside #88 Chilton Ave.
Morning coffee: at 9:00am
Sandwiches: at 12:00pm
The tasks: mainly weeding around the trees and shrubs, also protecting larger trees from ivy, trimming ivy back from sidewalks, picking up trash and taking the annual measurement of the trees and direct-seeded oaks.
We’ll provide tools for weeding and trimming (courtesy of SFPW) including gloves and kneeling pads. We’ll also have help from the SFPW Clean & Green Team.
I heard that there’s a possibility of rain on Nov 10 – we should be so lucky! If the rain is a drizzle or a light sprinkle we’ll enjoy it and proceed as planned. If the rain is heavy we will cancel.
I look forward to seeing you again and having some fun together on the Greenway. Email me if you have any questions.
Thank you for your support of the Greenway
Nicholas
