“Weeding, digging, hauling, shoveling, planting–so awesome!” That’s how Carolyn White of Arlington Street described her experience in the February 10 D8 cleanup day.
It was a spectacular day in the midst of soaking rainstorms.
TLC was doled out at the Bosworth Street median by a crew from the Geo Re-entry program, a nonprofit that helps formerly incarcerated people reintegrate and give back to the community. They were organized by SF Department of Public Works and supplemented by neighborhood volunteers.
One lane of Bosworth Street was coned off for safety of the workers.
Over on Arlington Street, volunteers were working to beautify the recently-minted Arlington Triangle, the patch of land bordering Arlington and Roanoke Streets and San Jose Avenue.
The Arlington Path, between Arlington Street and San Jose Avenue, has been a work in progress for many years. On the other side of San Jose Avenue is the Bernal Cut project, a recent addition to District 8.
