The Glen Park Association is happy to announce that we will be awarding $5,000 in grants this year! The maximum for any one project is $1,500. The deadline to submit applications for beneficial neighborhood projects is February 29. Grantees will be announced at the end of April. Further details and an application form can be found in the GPA Grants Program tab on the top of this page.
In 2022 the GPA awarded a variety of grants in support of projects that made our neighborhood more beautiful, fostered community spirit, and promoted educational projects in our neighborhood schools. For example:
- The Burnside Mural+ depicts Glen Park and Glen Canyon history.
- The Gum Tree Girls Festival, an event in Glen Canyon Park, celebrated the achievements of three stalwart women who successfully fought the plan to run a freeway straight through Glen Canyon Park.
- The Bernal Cut/Arlington pedestrian pathway, which runs from the Mission to the Glen Park BART station, was lovingly landscaped with native plantings.
- The STEAM program in one of our neighborhood schools was able to purchase materials for two projects.
We thank all our neighbors whose annual membership dues of $10 enables the GPA to support worthy projects which benefit all of Glen Park!
