Workers from the Capax company, contractors with the Department of Public Works, worked on clearing around 20 failing trees from the future Glen Park Greenway. Today they were behind St. John School, between Chilton and Burnside Avenues.
The “fennel forest” had been cleared earlier.
The workers were on deadline, needing to complete the job before the December 9 tree planting of 24 trees, many of them coast live oaks, along the Greenway.
Still to be removed are two leaning trees that are threatening a nearby house, on its right side in the photo.
