Halloween is a huge event in the city, perhaps nowhere as huge as in Glen Park. Last year, with the permission of SFPD and support by the Glen Park Association, a section of Chenery Street was closed to vehicular traffic so kids could trick or treat in a safe environment. The event was so successful that this year SFPD and the GPA partnered again, now also with Livable Cities and Supervisor Mandelman and the Mayor’s Office on Economic Development. This time there has been a lot more planning, organization and logistics.
Volunteers are needed to staff the intersections and for other tasks. Sign up for a volunteer shift here.
St. John’s School will be having a Halloween Carnival on Halloween night — October 31, 4PM – 7PM. Enjoy carnival games, bouncy houses, an inflatable firetruck and more! Food will be available for purchase. Tickets are $10 for each child admission and include unlimited carnival games and play in the bouncy houses.
At the Fall Glen Park Association meeting on October 17, Ingleside’s Tom Hauscarriague walked us through the plan. Below are a couple of helpful handouts to guide you and your kids to the best Halloween ever.
