San Francisco* is undertaking a study to deliver flood resilience and quality-of-life benefits to San Franciscans in the Upper Islais Creek Watershed. Quality-of-life benefits could include pedestrian and bicyclist safety, neighborhood connectivity, urban greening, and other environmental benefits. Increasing flood resilience may involve strategies to (1) adapt streets and the public realm to manage larger storm events, and (2) reduce the risk of flooding for the most vulnerable residents and properties.
