There are several opportunties to remove concrete and improve our environment both ecologically and aesthetically.
Sidewalk garden: remove concrete near your home and customize your garden with native California plants and permeable pavers.
Expanded tree basin: remove concrete to support existing trees, add additional plants too.
Trees: Have a basin without a tree? Add a tree.
We will host Friends of the Urban Forest via Zoom meeting in early December to break down the details. Doodle Poll your availability.
FUF will manage the permitting, sidewalk removal, soil, mulch and plants (including trees). Homeowners will contribute to the cost of permit and amenities. If you are a renter just ask your landlord for this great benefit. Funds have been set aside for neighbors who cannot afford the permit fees but can care for the garden.
