On Thursday afternoon, Glen Park Elementary had an open house for incoming parents, so the doors were open and parents were wandering the halls while teachers set up their classrooms, says Glen Park Elementary Parent Teacher Organization president Jennifer Tuerk.
The school had just received a donation of 20 iPads for its third graders, which had been delivered earlier that day.
Four individuals, trying all the classroom doors found that one open and took the box of iPads. They also stole a wallet from another classroom, she said.
“We are all devastated. As you know we have many low income families at our school so a donation like this is a huge help to us – but not when they get stolen,” Tuerk said.
The school has put up a donate button on its website for those who’d like to help donate to replace the stolen iPads. You can find it at
