Forwarded from Paul Matalucci:
Hello friends and supporters of the Diamond Heights Blvd. Median Project,
You may have heard about Love our City! a City-wide clean up event focused on sweeping sidewalks and picking up trash (including median curbs and drains).
To capitalize on their momentum and additional volunteers, we’re moving our next volunteer work day from this Saturday, Sept. 1, to the following Saturday, Sept. 8.
We will gather to polish our median islands, and we’d love to have you there!
Date (NEW): Saturday, September 8
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon
Location: Meet at St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church, 101 Gold Mine Dr, Parish Hall (Lower Level)
Lunch: We will serve sandwiches afterward to say thank you.
RSVP to me, so we have a headcount for lunch. paul (at) wordwc (dot) com
Note: if the rain is a drizzle to light sprinkle, we will proceed. Only heavy rain and/or thick fog will cause a cancellation.
Recommended for 12 years and older; no gardening experience required, but there may be bending and kneeling (pads and gloves will be provided). Some light hoeing, too.
If you have preferred personal gloves and tools, you are welcome to bring them.
If you’re unable to join us in person but would like to show your support, please consider making a financial contribution.
As always, thank you for your many forms of support, contribution, and encouragement.
Thank you for Betty Jane Carmack for her donation, and special thanks to our project sponsors: the Diamond Heights Shopping Center, Safeway, and Harbor Villa Restaurant for their ongoing support (including volunteer hours, financial and in-kind donations, and encouragement), and to Lanita Henriquez at the City of San Francisco Community Challenge Grant.
