Glen park’s cherished Destinations Bakery has re-opened.
The popular neighborhood spot closed on March 10 after a Department of Public Health inspector found signs of a rodent infestation.
Over the course of the next month and a half, proprietor Joe Schuver worked with staff, exterminators and a construction and cleanup crew to bring the entire facility up to code, sealing, cleaning and disinfecting the building.
On April 24, the bakery re-opened.
Schuver thanked the Glen Park community for its support. He said the bakery will be restarting with a modest daily output and will gradually increase its offering.
Rhubarb pies, Schuver said, are possible in the near future.
