A collapsed sewer on Diamond street just past Chenery clogged evening traffic (and distracted from the opening of the new Italian restaurant Manzoni) Monday night.
City workers told Ric Lopez of the Glen Park Merchants Association. “it was an emergency spot repair so the street would not cave in.”
The workers say we can expect some repair work along that part of Diamond in the summer.
Glen Park’s downtown is part of the “no construction during holidays” moratorium, but because it was an emergency the work had to be done immediately. “I have to thank them for doing a quick job of it, normally it would have been minimum one week,” says Lopez.
