On July 17, we will have a block party to celebrate the completion of the major portion of work on the CIRCULAR AVENUE RIBBON GARDEN, that three-quarters-of-a-mile stretch of land that is on the freeway side of Circular Avenue.
Those of you who have a backyard garden or try to keep your sidewalk weed free know that the job is never over! We will gather for a Sunday even with free food and entertainment from 11am – 3pm on Circular between Congo and Flood.
Supervisor Sean Elsbernd and other city officials will cut the ceremonial ribbon. We really do need to take time to appreciate the work of the volunteers who have donated many hours to make that strip of land something more than the dump it was. We are asking people to bring something to share.
If you would like to let us know what you are are planning to bring ahead of time it would help facilitate the planning. We already have a donation of hot dogs we plan to grill:
