You may have noticed how great the Arlington Path and adjacent open space are looking lately, thanks to the tireless efforts of a handful of neighbors. Turns out the folks who manage the San Francisco Crosstown Trail noticed too, because now both verdant sides of the Bernal Cut are part of the Trail!
Unveiled in June 2019, the Crosstown Trail connects the four corners of San Francisco through hidden trails, public parks, shopping corridors, tiled stairways, and community gardens. A small group of volunteers collaborated with local businesses, government departments, and nonprofits to create the route.
During the month of June, those volunteers will lead tours of various legs of the Crosstown Trail to celebrate its fifth anniversary. A tour including the new Glen Park leg — the Cuvier Commons mural, the Bernal Cut, the Arlington Path, and the Arlington Triangle — happens Sunday, June 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sign up here for limited slots. Suggested donation is $10.
Thanks to Glen Park neighbors like Carol, Paul, Carolyn, Jodell, Marnie, Scott, Laura and especially Sophie for their years of hard work beautifying the Bernal Cut and Arlington paths.
In 2024, the Glen Park Association proudly granted $1,200 for a water meter to feed the blossoming pollinator garden on the Arlington side, thanks to the generosity of our members!
