As some of you know, for about 20 years, the Glen Park Neighborhood celebrated itself every spring with a festival on Wilder and Diamond streets. An all volunteer committee organized the festival, composed of local merchants and residents. The festival provided a fun day full of music, food and artists/crafts selling their wares. Proceeds from the festival were awarded as grants to local schools and organizations. The last festival occurred in April of 2019 (with the 2020 festival shut down by Covid).
The festival was a lot of fun for the committee, but also a lot of work! And, with the new annual Art Walk happening in the fall now providing a similar opportunity for the neighborhood, the festival seems less necessary. Thus, after some deliberation, the Glen Park Festival committee decided to disband our 501(c)3 and cease the GPF. Those feeling nostalgia can check out our Tombstone page here.
This is definitely a bittersweet decision for us. Be sure to follow the Art Walk event page for announcements about the Glen Park Art Walk in fall 2025. And hopefully the neighborhood will continue to find other ways to build and celebrate community.
