Forwarded from SFDPW:
DPW workshop: Tues, October 18, 4 – 6 p.m., SF City Hall, Room 418
Recology, the San Francisco refuse collection and processing company, has notified the City and County of San Francisco of its intention to submit an application for a rate increase.
Public Works will be holding a workshop to ensure that the public has a better understanding of the issues that will be considered in the upcoming rate application. Recology representatives will present a description of new programs and changes being considered in refuse collection and processing in San Francisco.
They also will be available to answer technical questions so that the public may better understand the company’s plans and their potential impact on refuse collection and disposal rates. The workshop will be informal and will not result in any decisions, agreements or recommendations. Public participation and input is encouraged.
The October 18 workshop is just the first of many opportunities for people to learn more and weigh in on the proposed rate increase. There will be additional workshops and public hearings. In addition, a ratepayer advocate has been retained to help people convey their comments and concerns during the proceedings.
