A bikeshare station near Dolores Huerta Elementary School that was uprooted for road work has returned to a slightly different place: on Randall Street west of Chenery Street whereas previously it was east of Chenery.
“Staff will initiate follow-up outreach with neighborhood associations, residents, and other denizens to collect feedback about this new location,” said Adrian Leung, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency’s Bikeshare & Bike Parking Program Manager. “This will culminate in a public hearing in spring to consider permanently permitting the location west of Chenery. If the SFMTA decides not to permit the new location, the station will return to the original location east of Chenery.”
Leung said some residents and regular station users had suggested the new site and that it was not related to the new state law mandating vehicles park 20 feet from intersections. The new station is two docks smaller than the original so that it can fit between the corner and a driveway.
