City Agency Hearings

Nothing to report from Glen Park this week, but heads up on an impending change:

  • SFMTA is widening the pedestrian crossings at Dolores Street where it meets San Jose Avenue, which is meant to force sharper (and therefore slower) turns by vehicular traffic.

You can read about these changes in our Glen Park News stories about the San Jose Avenue road diet in spring and summer of 2016. We were told these changes were part of the “Dolores Gateway” in the 2010 Mission District Streetscape Plan. This portion of that plan’s work is being done under the contract that covers all the re-paving and re-striping of San Jose Avenue that started last year.

In addition to the turns onto Dolores, the agency is thinking of proposing a crosswalk and possibly a signal on San Jose Avenue at Brook Street.

Next SFMTA Board of Dir mtg: May 16 (agenda should be published by May 11)
Next Planning Commission mtg: May 11 (agenda should already have been published, in this resident’s opinion!)
Next SFMTA Engineering Public Hearing: May 19 (agenda not published yet. Meetings happen every two weeks, and today’s will take public feedback on a proposed speed hump on Natick, which we mentioned in last week’s post.)
