The baby owls are back in Glen Canyon

Baby owl in Glen Canyon Park. April, 2017. Photo by Jeff Freund.

Although one of Glen Park’s great horned owl died last year, this year a new family has taken up residence in the Canyon and has hatched at least one owlet.
Due to the construction on the Rec Center, the owls appear to have moved their nest away from the one they’ve been using for several years along the path.
Jeff Freund got this photo of an owlet in a nearby tree and said he’s seen the baby and its parents over  several evenings in the first weeks of April..
