New owner found for Glen Park Hardware

Glen Park Hardware will live again!

Things looked bleak for the continuation of a hardware store in Glen Park after Hal and Susan Tauber retired on August 31, 2016. They’d put their store up for sale but there had been no serious offers so after a massive sale they closed up shop.

“Then, at the 11th hour, this very nice man showed up …. and he wants to run a hardware store,” said Susan.

The Taubers’ business was in escrow as of last week and they hope that by the new year their much-loved store will open again under new management.

Susan was hopeful enough that on Friday she posted a sign saying “Open Soon Under New Management” in the window.

The buyer comes from a construction background, she said.

The Glen Park News will report more when the deal is finalized.

How beautiful!!! The neighborhood goes on in a positive way. Who
would think of that happening, but this is Glen Park!!!!

Great news! With the new walk in clinic and now the reopening of the hardware store, all we need is Chenery Park to be filled and a general cosmetic upgrade to some of the exteriors of the businesses. Paint, flower boxes, benches? I love our little “village” and it could be so much more attractive with a few upgrades here and there.
