11:39am 300 Blk Arbor Robbery
Recently, the department issued a bulletin to all officers to be on
the lookout for a quartet of armed robbers who were wanted for
stealing money from Bank of America customers using ATM’s. The
suspects would wait until the customer entered his or her PIN number
and then, when the machine disgorged the funds, steal the money. Many
of the victim’s were elderly citizens. The department identified one
of the suspects and Ingleside officers Archilla, Tom, Pacchetti and
Phillips went to his home on Arbor Street. The suspect’s mother
answered the door and said her son was not home. However, during that
conversation, Officer Archilla spotted the suspect walking down the
sidewalk near the home. He, along with the other officers, detained
the suspect and arrested him for armed robbery, conspiracy, and elder
abuse. Report number: 150984697

*****Ingleside Criminal Nonsense of the Month*****

4:46pm 400 Blk Cortland Stolen Property
A man needed a battery for his electric bicycle and decided to
purchase the item at a local store that sells electric bicycles, in
fact, the exact brand owned by the customer. Fortunately, or
unfortunately, depending upon your point of view, the store had a data
base of stolen bicycles. The customer’s bicycle was on that list and
the store owner called police. Ingleside Officers Alday and Mbeleke
Eteti responded and questioned the customer who said he bought the
bicycle ($3500 retail) from a friend for $400. He was arrested for
possession of stolen property. He also had a history of arrests for
possession of stolen property and drug related crimes. A search of his
clothing revealed greetings cards, credit cards, fake identification,
and more than $2400 in cash. He was booked at Ingleside Station. The
bike, which was stolen last March, was returned to the grateful owner.
