Forwarded from Public Information Officer Alex Murillo from San Francisco Public Works, Alex.M.Murillo@sfdpw.org

SF Public Works construction coming to San Jose Ave., Guerrero St., and Dolores St.

Project Description
San Francisco Public Works has hired M. Squared Construction, Inc. to perform sewer main replacement and pavement renovation work on San Jose Avenue, Guerrero Street and Dolores Street. The limits of work on this project are:

Sewer Work:
San Jose Avenue: Randall Street to 28th Street
Guerrero Street: 28th Street to 27th Street

Paving Work:
San Jose Avenue: Monterey Blvd off-ramp to 28th Street
Guerrero Street: 28th Street to Cesar Chavez
Dolores Street: Day Street to San Jose Avenue

The sewer main replacement/relining work is expected to commence on February 8, 2016 and will take approximately 8 months to complete. Many of the aforementioned blocks have a dual-sewer system. The contractor will replace the sewer on one side of the street for several blocks then drop back to start the same process on the opposite side of the street. Sewer service will not be interrupted during construction. Please continue to use your household plumbing as usual.

The scope of work will include new curb ramps, street base repairs, cathodic water main protection, and repaving.

We anticipate that final paving of San Jose Avenue (Monterey Blvd. off-ramp to 28th Street), Guerrero Street (28th Street to Cesar Chavez), and Dolores Street (Day St. to San Jose Ave.) will happen in late October 2016.

Impacts and Restrictions
Street parking will not be possible near the work zone during construction work hours. Please see the posted barricade signs for exact work hours, days, and locations. Work hours may vary depending on the construction task. Vehicles parked in the construction zone during the posted work hours will be towed at the vehicle owner’s expense.

Sidewalk and driveway access will be maintained at all times. Delays are possible, especially if crews are working in front of your home or on your block. Crews may need to create a path of travel for your vehicle to enter/exit. Please allow extra travel time during the posted work hours.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we make improvements to San Francisco.

Please feel free to contact us if you’d like additional information about the upcoming work.
