What’s Been Fixed
You asked – we fixed it! Here are highlights from our work in Glen Park. To learn more about the below efforts and other work in the neighborhood, email us at fixitteam@sfgov.org.
Flower Stand at BART
In conjunction with improvements in and around the BART station in the Glen Park Fix-It Zone, Fix-It worked with Public Works and BART management to repaint a flower stand located in the BART plaza. This stand had been heavily tagged and neglected. The painted stand is one of the first things visitors see when exiting BART. Along with new plantings and overall improved maintenance at the BART station, the repainted flower stand now provides an aesthetically pleasing site for flower shopping in the plaza.
Glen Park Earth Day Cleanup at Arlington St and San Jose Ave
Fix-It worked with the Glen Park Neighborhood association to organize a cleanup on Earth Day where volunteers worked to clear brush and pick up trash around San Jose Ave and Arlington St, a walkway for the neighborhood and top area of concern for the neighbors. After several hours of hard work, several dozen compost bags were filled and the walkway became much more accessible and beautiful. There is still more work to do, and another cleanup will be organized for Summer 2018.

Training Corridor Ambassadors
Public Works Corridor Ambassadors are a supplementary service to the Glen Park neighborhood and many neighborhoods throughout the city. They work hard to keep Glen Park’s sidewalks clean and call in other issues to Public Works. Fix-It holds special trainings with Corridor Ambassadors in Fix-It Zones to ensure they are aware of all the key concerns brought up by residents. The Corridor Ambassadors work Friday-Monday from 11am-7pm. If you see them, say hello!
6 Lights Repaired
Fix-It worked with the Public Utilities Commission address lighting issues.
12 Pruned, Removed or Planted Trees
Trees throughout Glen Park were addressed by Public Works.
3 Repaired Street Signs
Street signs throughout the neighborhood were repaired by SFMTA.
